Our Village Gardens has been modeling how neighborhoods can grow their own food and run their own market for 25 years. We have 17 languages in our 80 plot garden and feed 60+ families seasonally during the growing season. Our goal is to feed our community through the joy of gardening. We need to raise more awareness and funding to move from survival to thriving. Portland is a sanctuary state, and our neighborhood houses many of the immigrants that come here for better life. Through the garden, we give free plots, soil, workshops, and water for anyone who wants to do grow their own food and grow food for the community. We also partner with Our local Boy and Girls Club to bring gardening education to children.
