Our Environmental Justice Ministry has been promoting the installation of native gardens and the removal of sod on church grounds.
Through signage, member education, and the production of YouTube videos, we hope to increase awareness about the very specific and special relationships between plants and pollinators.
This project was inspired by Douglas Tallamy’s book, “Nature’s Best Hope.”
Where hopelessness may be strong in the public realm, we strive to inspire and empower people to take control of their private landscapes to restore habitat for our endangered pollinators.
We hope to spread interest in restoring native plants and habitat on private properties to support our pollinators and birds. We hope that some of the losses on public properties may be balanced out by gains on private lands.
We just need help spreading the word!
