Helping Gen Z move from climate anxiety to civic power through community, systems change education, and pathways to civic action.
Climate Action Club is an offline civic home for Gen Z in the SF Bay Area who care deeply about the climate crisis but lack clear pathways into collective action. Our work sits at the intersection of community-building, climate education, and local power-building.
We started hosting community gatherings in mid-2024 with a simple idea: people are more likely to take climate action when they feel connected to others and understand how systems change happens. Since then, we’ve hosted over 40 in-person gatherings—dinners, picnics, lectures—engaging over 1,400 attendees and cultivating a core community of 350 members.
We aim to build a durable, place-based community of young civic leaders who can help scale relational models of power-building to influence local climate decisions. Currently volunteer-run, we hope that funding for staff, space, and program development will enable us to expand our civic action and education initiatives. Mentorship and guidance are very welcome as we continue on our journey!
