Archway Urban Farm is a teaching garden in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. The farm produces fruit and vegetables using only organic methods and provides learning opportunities and fresh food to the community.
Our goal is to fight food insecurity through connection to nature, teaching our community how to work with, instead of against, the Earth. We are partnered with Archway, a local community service organization, that provides hundreds of services to locals beyond the farm.
The farm was started in 2015 by a single volunteer, and has since grown to include two full time employees, and dozens of student co-ops and volunteers, devoting hundreds of hours to fulfilling our mission.
We work closely with the Archway Food Bank to provide fresh produce to those in need within our community. In order to sustain ourselves, we sell the bulk of our produce at a discounted rate at local farmers markets. We also rely heavily on grants and external funding. Our aim to is to one day be fully self-sufficient so that we can donate 100% of our crop to the food bank and help those in need.
